TCM Film Festival – Poolside!
Each year, the TCM Classic Film Festival invades Hollywood with a 4-day festival of nothing but classic films. Saturday, I was happy to attend a poolside screening of the 1974 disaster flick EARTHQUAKE at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel as part of the festival. Legendary actor Richard Roundtree (SHAFT!) was present for a Q&A with actress Illeana Douglas. He talked about his role as the Evil Kneivel-esque daredevil in the film, but also opened up about his career and personal life--including his battle with breast cancer. It was a candid conversation in a magical setting.
